Abbott Core diagnostics division provides diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
Main Responsibilities
- This person is responsible for a range of financial disciplines, including forecasting, financial planning and resource allocation, support for audits as well as logistics and customer support. Develops and establishes priorities for the direct organization and ensures the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of all financial information.
- This position is ultimately responsible for establishing, developing, and implementing appropriate processes and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and planning information, while also providing efficient and effective decision support to management, including the Africa Regional Managing Director, the Area Finance Director and local management staff.
- Participate in the development of short- and long-term strategies, objectives, plans and co-ordinate the implementation of agreed financial plans in all areas of the Company.
- Management of people including supporting the rest of the business.
- Ensure compliance with all internal as well as external policies and procedures including FCPA, IFRS, compliance and quality.
- Provide key support to senior management in providing plan, update and LBE input. (Including sales forecasting process.)
- Manage all processes related to Order Entry, purchasing and logistics
- Ensure monitoring of DSO and receivables in line with approved plans/updates
- Ensure capital purchases (RCE) and HC reporting in line with procedures and plans/updates.
- Utilize Performance Excellence to set expectations, give feedback and coach in developing employees.
- Develop Basic Operating Procedures for all functions and ensure that they are updated on a regular basis.
- Ensure compliance with all Quality and ISO requirements on an ongoing basis
- Ensure monthly recons are completed and are clear and concise.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE:
- A qualified CA (SA) majoring in Accounting, Commerce or related.
- Additional CIMA qualification would be advantageous
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a Finance Manager or related role.
- Must have experience working with FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis)
- Has worked within a multi-national organization.
- Must have advanced excel skills.
