Financial reporting and Statutory
- Prepare and review the month-end journal entries
- Perform divisional consolidations and group reporting
- Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- Prepare management accounts, and perform variance and analytical reviews
- Draft and finalise annual financial statements
- Prepare regulatory and statutory returns
- Design, implement and evaluate internal financial controls
- Plan and review results of external evaluation of internal controls
- Ensure compliance with Group and accounting policies
- Plan and manage the external audit process
- Review major transactions with the auditor's technical department
- Communicate external auditor's findings during the audit process to senior management
- Manage the Wealth Finance team
- Tax compliance and planning of Sasfin Wealth and all of its subsidiaries
- Partner/interact with Group Tax Manager on divisional and corporate tax related issues
- Business Planning
- Prepare annual and long-term budgets and forecasts in line with the strategic objectives and manage the process
- Manage group cash flow and interest exposure on an ongoing basis
- Assist Head of Finance with implementation and monitoring of progress related thereto
- Provide strategic recommendations to the Head of Finance and COO on business analysis results, cost allocation and revenue/expense analysis
- Research and apply the accounting treatment of new acquisitions and disposals
- Group auditors
- Regulatory Bodies - FSB, SARB, SARS, etc.
- JSE mainly related to compliance with their listing requirements
- Designated Advisors/Sponsors, related to JSE compliance issues
- Corporate Advisors - taxation, legal, mergers and acquisitions, compliance
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Required: CA(SA); Advantage: MBA, CFA)
- Minimum 2 years' post articles experience in a Stockbroking or related organisation within the financial services sector
- Strong and up-to-date knowledge of IFRS, Tax, Companies Act and other applicable standards and legislation
- Strong systems experience - Advanced Excel, BDA. Accpac and Great Plains would be an advantage
- Demonstrate ability to manage large volumes of data
- Relevant experience in handling complex instruments and accounting thereof
- Understanding of the Wealth regulatory environment
- Managerial experience
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English
- Sound business acumen
