Financial Operations Associate

Effer Ventures is an operationally-heavy investment business. The group is currently focused on rolling up staffing and recruitment businesses in the UK as well as a leading Employer of Record and recruitment business in South Africa. The model is to drive digitalisation and operational efficiency across the business, leading to an economies-of-scale-driven growth for each of the operating companies. We are looking to grow and scale both organically within these operating companies and through further acquisitions.

We are a global business, with offices in London, Cape Town and India. We have tripled in size over the last 12 months and, to cement our increasing reputation and position in the market, we are looking to add talent to our team to assist with our aggressive growth objectives for 2024.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven Financial Operations Associate to join our Finance and Operations team in our Cape Town office. This role is an excellent opportunity for newly graduated individuals who wish to start a career in finance and obtain tangible operational and financial experience in the field of payroll, accounts receivable management and other finance operations. This role will report to the Finance & Operations Manager and offers the opportunity to develop a career as a finance professional in a global business.

The responsibilities of this role include:
  • Weekly temp payroll preparation and processing
  • Weekly & monthly client invoice processing and send out
  • Weekly & monthly client statements send out
  • Client relationship management
  • Accounts receivable chasing and managing the debtors book
  • Importing weekly & monthly client invoicing into the accounting system
  • Candidate query management
  • Adhoc financial operations related tasks as required by Finance & Operations Manager
This role requires the following qualifications and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Prior experience in credit control, billing or payroll advantageous
The incumbent that would be the right fit for this role will have the the following qualities and characteristics:

  • Has an analytical mind and a love for numbers
  • Strong numerical skills and know your way around Microsoft Excel/Google sheets
  • Process-oriented and a desire to contribute to driving process efficiency
  • Good time management skills
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work autonomously on day-to-day tasks
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to work under pressure and stick to deadlines
  • Eager to learn and develop finance skills
Remuneration Package:

Basic Salary of R180000 to R204000 annually depending on qualification and experience

Quarterly bonus scheme post probation

Company medical aid contribution after 12 months

Subsidised staff transport to & from the office
