Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Specialist to join their finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing financial consolidation, management accounts, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with IFRS standards. This role demands strong analytical skills, financial modelling expertise, and the ability to deliver insights that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Consolidation: Oversee and manage the consolidation of financial statements across multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
- IFRS Compliance: Drive and/or support group IFRS-specific projects where needed, and coordinate sign-off with auditors on technical accounting opinions.
- Accounting Frameworks: Maintain and update group technical accounting standards, policies, and processes in line with industry norms and regulatory requirements.
- Management Accounts: Prepare and review monthly management accounts, providing insightful variance analysis and commentary.
- Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of financial reports in adherence with IFRS, and deliver key financial insights to senior leadership.
- Process Efficiency: Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of current reporting processes.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and maintain robust financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Continuously enhance financial reporting and consolidation processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Audit & Compliance: Support external audit processes by providing timely and accurate financial data.
- Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within all reporting systems.
- IFRS Expertise: Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and consolidation principles.
- Financial Modelling: Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex financial data and offer actionable insights.
- Systems Knowledge: Experience with financial reporting systems such as Sage Intacct and IDU.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
- Business Partnering: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with non-finance stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically and tactically, address issues proactively, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Deadline-Driven: Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting strict reporting deadlines.
- Clear Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), CIMA, or equivalent financial qualification.
- Experience: 25 years experience in financial planning & analysis, management reporting, and group financial consolidation (essential).
- Systems: Strong experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools.
