The role of the Financial Systems functional analyst (Project Accounting and month end) entails the following:
- To support the Oracle Project accounting module. All calls logged by users on this module must be resolved based on set service level agreements.
- Implement configuration and system enhancements on the Projects module as per business requirements.
- Conduct end to end testing of the Oracle Projects modules when upgrades and rollup patches are applied on the ERP environment.
- Conduct regular cleanup exercises regarding relevant approval workflows, removing unposted batches and rejected transactions in the applicable interfaces etc.
- Resolving accounting events in error & addressing period close sub ledger exceptions for the various modules as part of Month End processes & procedures
- Continuous improvement of the month-end processes.
- Perform user training on the Projects module.
- Ensure that training manuals for the Projects module are kept up to date based on functionality changes based on the latest patch sets or upgrades, utilizing the appropriate technology.
- Raise service requests with Oracle to resolve business critical issues.
- Skilled in understanding Oracle workflow.
- Skilled in other financial modules and the integration of these.
- Document functional specifications for enhancement requests and new functionality to Projects module.
- Provide financial information (reports or data extracts) to auditors.
- Suggest system improvements and enhancements that are in line with business processes.
- Work closely with technical developers to ensure that enhancements to the system are being conducted according to business specification.

- Undergraduate Qualification and/or Diploma in Information Management Systems or equivalent
- Exposure to ERP systems
- Minimum 3 years experience in support environment using ERP systems, preferentially on Oracle Project accounting and general ledger modules.
- Oracle certification will be beneficial.
- General knowledge of financial systems
- Exposure to and experience working in an Oracle ERP environment is a strong advantage.
