Main Purpose
Responsible for the management and maintenance of the entire SA Taxi fleet of vehicles, including optimisation of the fleet vehicles and fuel usage. The role is required to ensure efficiencies and adequately manage the fleet to improve on the current losses and gain revenue in this area of business.
Accountabilities
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize fleet performance and minimize costs.
- Continually improve policies and procedures relative to fleet management operations.
- Liaise with financial institutions and various technical managers regarding mechanical repair on all vehicles for repairs and services, as and when required, including maintenance authorization and the scrutinization thereof.
- Be the proxy to business to purchase/procure vehicles and negotiate with suppliers.
- Use data to continually evaluate the Company's repair and preventative maintenance processes to continually improve Fleet performance
- Ensure compliance with all local regulations pertaining to vehicle operation and maintenance.
- Plan, execute and monitor department budget to ensure compliance.
- Execute vehicle and equipment replacements.
- Fuel management and management of all fuel expenses and exceptions.
- Manage and renew vehicle license discs.
- Liaise with our Insurance regarding accident damaged vehicles, including keeping record of accident reports
- Liaise with Insurance regarding claims related to windscreen replacements
- Execute new vehicle supplier on-boarding
- Record and maintain a list of all vehicles
- Manage the selling of vehicles via authorised, reputable companies.
- Manage the cancellation of fuel cards, insurance and E-tolls
- Control acknowledgements of debt documents to Payroll (fines or other)
- Manage monthly AOD submissions of Fleet personnel
- Minimum Grade 12/Matric qualification required
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in effective fleet management within a corporate environment
- Fleet tracking/management and inventory management software experience essential
- Minimum 3 year degree/diploma required.
