- Oversee and ensure a smooth and effective running operation, policy and procedures implementation of all the fresh departments throughout the company as well prioritizing and delegating the workload appropriately.
- Set, monitor and achieve sales targets with the team on gross profit margin, net margin, waste and other KPIs as agreed with the Management.
- Develop a productive production planner in all the depts with constant monitoring.
- Control stocktaking and overheads as per fresh budget.
- Foster good working relationships among the team.
- Hold regular fresh food meetings and communicate relevant details and results to the team.
- Manage employee performance, proper training, giving regular feedback, recognition and encouragement.
- Ensure that all food safety and HACCP standards are met.
- Managing stock ordering, merchandizing, inventory, pricing policy and rotation.
- Innovative and creative new ideas.
- Ensure proper receiving and storage procedures.
- Ensure proper wastage control.
- Constant competitors visit.
- Deal with all customer queries efficiently, professionally and consistent with store policy.
- Manage employee rostering and annual leave for fresh departments.
- Ensure merchandising and presentation of the fresh department is always of the highest standard and in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines.
- Ensure resource is planned thoroughly.
Tertiary qualification preferred
5+ years experience in Fresh Produce Management
