Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our client and their mining team as Foreman. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the mining site, ensuring the safety of all workers, and maximizing the efficiency of mining operations. The Mining Foreman will also be responsible for coordinating with mining engineers, geologists, and other staff to ensure smooth and successful mining operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of mining staff, including equipment operators, miners, and laborers
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols at all times
- Monitor mining operations to ensure productivity and efficiency goals are met
- Work closely with mining engineers and geologists to develop mining plans and strategies
- Conduct regular inspections of mining equipment and infrastructure to identify and address issues
- Train and mentor mining staff to ensure high levels of skill and performance
- Maintain accurate records of production, equipment maintenance, and personnel attendance
- Communicate regularly with Mine Manager and other key stakeholders to provide updates on mining operations
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Previous experience with heavy mobile equipment in open cast mining operations
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, safety protocols, and industry regulations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
