Aon South Africa is hiring an FP & A Management Accountant based on a hybrid basis, from our Head Office in Sandton.
The role of a FP & A Management Accountant includes being responsible for forecasting, budgeting, management accounting and special projects, whilst being a strategic partner for the business.

What The Day Will Look Like
A FP & A management accountant will need to:
Fully contribute to the commercial development of the business by working with senior management teams, external third parties and other stakeholders as required.
Monitor and report progress on all key business initiatives, particularly revenue generation, and provide monthly updates to all the relevant stakeholders.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the key premium and revenue generators and contribute to new ways of revenue growth.
Ensure that revenue recognition policies, reporting requirements and financial control procedures are in place within the business.
Would need to assume ownership of the month-end close, in terms of ensuring that actuals come in as per forecast and a reporting process that meets the information needs of local, regional and global stakeholders.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Month-end reporting, analyzing actuals versus forecast and prior year and adding commentary.
- Embedding an effective planning and forecasting process within the business to ensure forecasts are robust, providing timely and accurate financial and non-financial management information to key stakeholders.
- Works with the CFO and business heads to create the annual budget at a detailed (cost-centre) level.
- Continuously develops and implements key performance measures, including trend analysis and other operational data to provide insightful and challenging contribution to the overall running of the business.
- Credit control follow up with the respective business units.
- Review on processes and procedures within the business and suggestion on improvement where applicable.
- Ad hoc projects as required.

Education
- Be in possession of Grade 12 (Matric).
- Must be in a possession of a degree in Accounting.
- An Honours degree in Accounting will be an added advantage.
- A qualified CA or CIMA will be an added advantage.
- Well-developed communication skills.
- Well-developed presentation skills.
- The ability to work in and with teams.
- The ability to work independently and gaining an in-depth knowledge of the business.
- The ability to persuade and negotiate stakeholders at all levels and build strong relationships.
- Well-developed analytical skills.
- Financial modelling would be an added advantage.
- An outstanding understanding of finance and accounting.
- A working knowledge of risk analysis methodologies.
- A good understanding of the applicable legislative environment governing the industry.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the South African and international short-term insurance markets would be advantageous.
- An in-depth strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals would be advantageous.
- Must have 5 years or more experience in FP & A or similar role.
