Sandvik Rock Processing, Division Crushing & Screening in South Africa currently has an opening for a Freight and Order Management Lead located at Spartan.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the SRP Warehouse and Logistics Manager.
The Freight and Order Management lead is responsible for the customer order flow processes from sales order entry to shipping. Responsible for the efficient and economical movement of goods across international borders in accordance with organizational policies and in compliance with the relevant local country and customs regulations.
Controls the commercial impact of the complete range of activities from sales order entry, allocation, receiving, dispatching, optimizing inventory level and shipping. Administers an effective system that includes management and continuous improvement of the freight service, shipping, and quality of delivery. Responsible for the management of the customer order flow and the interface with the Sales and Aftermarket Teams to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the processing of orders and related activities to ensure orders flow effectively through systems and physical processes in accordance with the organization's customer service standards.
- Interface with Sales and Aftermarket teams to improve customer service standards by monitoring fulfilment of orders and delivery within the required delivery time at minimal logistic costs.
- Provide effective communication to stakeholders regarding progress on all open orders.
- Daily review and resolution of outstanding orders.
- Review Emergency and Critical Orders statuses daily and expedite accordingly.
- Inbound and outbound freight process management.
- End to End responsibility for Outbound Order flow delivery performance.
- Prepares, files for import/export documents (e.g., customs declarations, purchase order, packing list, commercial invoice, shipper's letter of instruction, shipper's export declaration, bill of lading, air waybill) required for the compliant completion of import/export activities.
- Ensures that commercial and sales invoices are accurate in accordance with physical shipment, quantities, value of goods, country of origin and other regulatory requirements.
- Accuracy of documentation for Trade Compliance
- Serves as an import/export first point of contact for Sales, Aftermarket, Manufacturing, Finance, Logistics, and import/export compliance functions.
- Executes carrier performance reviews and ensures On-Time customs clearance for inbound freight, where applicable.
- Work with Inventory, Purchasing and Warehouse teams to source items and manage product availability levels.
- Grade 12 certificate.
- Tertiary degree / diploma or demonstratable equivalent experience in Supply Chain or related field.
- +5 years experience in Supply Chain in a mining / engineering/ logistics environment.
- Working knowledge of Customer Order Desk, Customer Order Process Flow, international freight trade processes.
- Managing internal and/or external customer service.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills to influence internal/external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Must be able to handle a diversity of functions / multi- tasking.
- Be organized and have a structured analytical approach, Problem Solving
- Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to understand and interpret data using the applicable software applications and systems.
- Good people and communication skills
- Valid drivers license
