Job Purpose
The role of the Lecturer is the delivery of training and education of students, student consultations, and the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research & development; while providing overall support to the Academic department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Presenting content in a class environment
- Briefing students for assignments and projects
- Marking assessments and providing feedback
- Actively engaging with current trends in teaching and learning strategies within the Rosebank College environment
- Developing and implementing intervention programmes for at-risk students
- Conducting research
- Honors degree in Information Systems and Technology or related qualification
- 2 - 3 Years of Lecturing experience
- NQF level 8 qualification in Education (PGDHE or equivalent); Training and Development an added advantage.
- Experience in guidance counselling, and remediation.
- Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.
- The ability to provide student support services.
- The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.
- The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.
- Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.
- Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
