Job requirements:
- At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role
- Must be computer literate
- Ability to lead and influence teams
- Excellent verbal, written and telephonic communication skills
- Fluent in English. Second language would be preferable but not essential
- Must have a reliable vehicle
- Work weekends and public holidays. Off days are in the week
- Sober habits and prefer non-smoker
- Salary dependent on experience. Includes on-site accommodation.

Job responsibilities:
- Coordinate function’s, promotions
- Responsible for all arrangements/planning leading up to the function, (including all aspects of marketing)
- Manage & liaise with service providers & guests
- Prepare & distribute customer satisfaction surveys after each function & the collating of feedback
- Promotion of the Rain Farm brand
- Adherence to organizational procedures & policies
- Development & Submission of reports to management
- Calculate budgets & ensure they are adhered to
- Sample food & select dishes for menus with guests
- Plan layout of seating & decorations
- Co-ordinate & monitor function timelines & ensure deadlines are met
- Edit & design promotional materials
- Liaise with clients, listening to their needs and presenting ideas and solutions to their requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, employees, wait staff and many other parties at the same time.
- Need to remain calm during crisis and the high pressure of an event in progress.
- Functions co-ordinator’s will need negotiation skills to work out prices with clients and contractors.
- Need to have a “sales man persona”, previous sales experience would be an advantage.
- Many things happen all at once at meetings.
- Functions coordinator’s need to stay focused and organized so that the event goes off without a hitch.
- Liaising with BOH is the utmost important part of an event to run smoothly.
