In 2022 Emerging Media Ventures, Blenheim Chalcots sport investment platform, acquired the rights to the Paarl franchise for the inception of the SA20 tournament in South Africa. This is in addition to already established teams including Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and Barbados Royals in the CPL, plus the Royals School of Business and Rajasthan Royals Academy - the Royals Sports Group.

We are heading into a period of ambitious scaling, and as a result, we need an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to oversee the Paarl Royals operations in Cape Town.
The Role:
The General Manager will play a vital role in overseeing and managing all aspect of the Paarl Royals operations, including responsibility for all revenue streams. Out of season, there may also be additional opportunities for development, supporting on wider Royals Sport Group initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing and strengthening relationships with key local stakeholders (Boland Cricket, Govt, CSA, SA20 etc)
- Securing local sponsors
- Managing local banking relationships
- Overseeing the year-round agency
- Ideating and implementing new revenue generating opportunities on the ground
- Overall accountability for stadium operations and fan engagement (with implementation support from the agency)
- Coordinating with central Royals team for all operational elements
The ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty.
- 6plus years work experience in a commercial environment
- 2plus years experience in a General Management or revenue generating role
- Bachelors or Masters degree
- Growth mindset and a strong sense of ownership
