MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
Lead and manage the staff in the unit
Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
Manage key stakeholder relations
Required Education
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: 3 or 4-year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing; Postgraduate qualification in the units specialist area (if relevant)
DESIRED EDUCATION: Nursing education qualification; Nursing management qualification
Required Experience
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital; 2-3 years leadership experience in a hospital
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Infection Prevention and Control; Clinical Facilitation
