- The General Manager is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and the achievement of Key Performance Indicators of the
- Responsible for overall performance of the Operation, aligned to the Business Unit Strategy.
- To lead the Operation, the daily management and coordination of plant activities and
- To ensure compliance to legislation, regulations, policies, and
- Recognized Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences or Equivalent.
- Additional business qualifications (e.g., MBA) will be advantageous.
- 8-10 years' experience in a management role at senior level within a cement manufacturing
- In-depth cement manufacturing experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the respective roles and responsibilities of the Mining/ Production/ Engineering/ Sales/ SHEQ/ HR and Finance teams within the manufacturing environment.
- Develop, manage and achieve budgets, targets and objectives (KPI's) for the Operation
- Ensure that all manufacturing functions within the plant are coordinated and given the necessary direction, control and management including effectively managing labour requirements/manpower, production planning, stock management, plant maintenance and modifications
- Demonstrate innovative leadership and building a culture of world-class excellence and performance.
- Ensure good people management practices in line with the Company's HR policies.
- Ensure that key roles are staffed with human resources who can effectively undertake their roles in the operation and that these roles are clearly defined and understood.

- Instill a customer focused approach throughout the Operation and proactively promote the Company's brand.
- Stay abreast with cement manufacturing technology and new products and introducing these where applicable.
- Manage all core /manufacturing functions within the plant, whilst remaining focused on "the bottom line" and the overall business objectives and strategy.
- Ensure that manufacturing equipment is maintained, supported and Manage availability and efficiency of equipment.
- Coordinate and control activities and manage assets to ensure acceptable standards of financial performance.
- Ensure that process and product quality of the Operation meets legal and customer requirements and standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including MPRDA pertaining to Social and Labour Plans and Mining Charter targets and requirements.
