Responsibilities
- Medical Consultations: Conduct comprehensive consultations with patients to assess their medical history, determine their suitability for aesthetic treatments, and address their concerns and goals.
- Treatment Preparations: Prepare patients for various aesthetic treatments, including IV drips, blood draws, and other necessary procedures. Ensure that all preparations are carried out with the utmost attention to safety, hygiene, and patient comfort.
- Aesthetic Treatments: Perform a range of aesthetic procedures in accordance with established protocols, including but not limited to injectables (e.g., dermal fillers, botulinum toxin), skin rejuvenation treatments, laser procedures, and non-surgical body contouring.
- Documentation and Record-keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient consultations, treatments performed, medications prescribed, and any adverse events or complications. Adhere to all legal and ethical requirements regarding patient confidentiality.
- Patient Education: Educate patients about the various aesthetic treatments available, their potential benefits, and associated risks. Provide clear instructions on post-treatment care and follow-up appointments to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the clinic's multidisciplinary team, including aesthetic nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless patient care and achieve the best possible results.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to clinical governance standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory guidelines to maintain the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction. Continuously monitor and improve upon treatment techniques, incorporating new research and industry advancements.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in aesthetics and attend relevant conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge. Maintain professional licensure and actively participate in professional organizations.
- Medical degree (MBChB).
- Completion of community service as a General Practitioner.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- Strong interest and knowledge in aesthetic medicine and non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and provide compassionate care.
- Keen attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all medical procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
