The Hanns Seidel Foundation, an official German Foundation mandated by the Bundestag (Federal Parliament) is looking for a German speaking accounting and administrative officer for its branch office for the Western Cape, based in Cape Town.
Job requirements:
- One-year contract with the possibility of extension
- We are looking for a reliable, flexible team player who is able to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment, with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a solution oriented, positive mind-set.
- Candidates should have a relevant diploma or degree and at least two years’ related work experience, with contactable references.
- The interview process may include exercises to test writing skills and numeric abilities as well as computer literacy.
- Starting date: 1 February 2018
- Remuneration: Market related salary and benefits
Job responsibilities:
- Managing the project’s accounting processes independently, according to the Foundation’s rules and regulations, for the Western Cape
- Working with the Foundation’s accounting software program APASYS (German language program)
- Doing monthly, half-yearly and yearly accounts and drafting accounting reports
- Administration of the Foundation’s bank accounts and effecting of payments
- VAT
- Preparing accounts for external audits
- Annual project budget planning & project finance
- General office administration, filing, telephone service
- Correspondence in German and English
- Business-Travel-Management
- Drafting meeting minutes
- Project Support
- Assisting in finalizing project proposals, quarterly and annual reports
- Assistance in drafting agreements and MoUs for project partners
- Other assigned duties
