Job Summary
As a Mechanical Piping Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all aspects of engineering design, procurement, construction, and project completion comply with project contracts, focusing on schedule, cost, health, safety, and environmental standards. You will be involved in various tasks, including reviewing and designing mechanical modifications for oil and gas processing and handling facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design or study mechanical modifications for oil, gas, and utility facilities.
- Lead capital project execution while adhering to work scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage project lifecycle from engineering to construction and turnover.
- Develop project proposals, defining scope, schedules, and budget for approval.
- Participate in HAZOP Studies, FEED reviews, and detailed engineering.
- Oversee contractors for design, procurement, and construction.
- Develop contracting strategies and coordinate among project stakeholders.
- Review schedules and monitor progress, addressing any contractor performance issues.
- Lead multiple concurrent projects, with potential support from junior engineers.
- Develop piping material classes and specify related components on P&IDs.
- Create internal specifications and contribute to project planning and quality improvement.
- Evaluate and recommend tools and methodologies for project management.
- Conduct special studies related to Project Management.
- Assess capabilities of contractors and suppliers.
- Willingness to permanently relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
- Professional Engineering Registration preferred.
- PMP Certification desirable.
- 7+ years of experience in engineering design and construction, preferably in the oil industry or similar.
- Familiarity with International Engineering Codes and Standards.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Proactive approach to project improvements and cost savings.
- Experience in the GCC, Saudi Arabia, or with our company is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering practices, codes, and standards (ASME, API, NACE, ASTM, ISO).
- Proficiency in engineering software.
