Responsibilities
- Lead improvement initiatives from the procurement side for the Energy category.
- Support the implementation of the PEP+ Roadmap in SA.
- Manage business stakeholders; represent the SA Clusters GP function internally (peer level) and externally (suppliers).
- Manage the Energy category on a cluster level, leveraging OpCos footprint in the SA Cluster.
- Ensure compliance with GP policy within the category.
- Ensure implementation of best-in-class sourcing methods and tools.
- Lead supplier diversity plans and B-BBEE Roadmap for the category.
- Support the SA GP Capex & Make Category Manager in tracking, monitoring, and reporting of supplier markets for categories during the duration of contracts (including benchmarking against industry/market standards).
- Work closely with the SA GP Capex & Make Category Manager and GP COE to:
- Monitor sourcing productivity/savings for the Energy category (for the current year and over PSP).
- Evaluate and evolve sourcing strategies based on changing market conditions and provide inputs during strategic sourcing activities, including internal and external analysis and negotiations.
- Ensure implementation of sourcing strategies/plans, compliance monitoring, and benefits tracking (in close collaboration with the Transactional Procurement Team) in line with procurement policies, SOA, and Procurement practices.
Requirements
- Comprehensive understanding and technically inclined in terms of the Energy market in SA
- Experience in strategically sourcing categories in scope
- Be a recognised leader of change
- +7 years proven procurement experience as the Energy sourcing specialist
- Skilled in managing across a dispersed team of business stakeholders; strong selling skills
- Multilingual a plus
- Experience in procurement in a decentralized company
- +7 Years proven experience in procurement
- Formal University Degree (BSc or Equivalent)
- Procurement professional (CIPS or equivalent)
- Experience in working in a regional procurement organization
