Operational Repairs and Maintenance
Note and raise maintenance issues with the Engineering Manager.
Rigorously check for faults and anticipate when a problem/fault could arise and work effectively to minimise its impact so as not to disrupt the running of the plant.
Manage the usage of the Company vehicles and tractors.
Maintain the Company vehicles and tractors to avoid breakdowns.
Maintain the main water line by checking for leaks and repair where needed.

Coordinate renovations of existing facilities and the construction of new facilities.
Coordinate and inspect major contract work on the electrical, refrigeration, mechanical and plumbing, and other related systems.
Ensure that the building has adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation and that it is properly cleaned, maintained and in good working condition in accordance with BOP's.
Plan and manage all planned maintenance, preventative schedules, work requests and break downs with support from engineering planning resources and the Engineering Manager.
Develop a daily work schedule for all activities to be performed to ensure the smooth operation of the team, to minimise downtime and overtime.
Supervise and assign maintenance work to employees and contractors on a daily basis, ensuring clear allocation of responsibility and accountability.
Perform work inspections and checks for completeness of tasks and compliance with legislation, SHEQ and in-house maintenance standards.
Determine material, equipment and supplies to be used and ensure that these are ordered and available at the work site.
Transfer equipment and personnel from one task to another as necessary and ensure that transport is available and meets legislative requirements.
Manage the maintenance spend against budget within assigned area of responsibility.
Implementation of Safety Health Environment, Risk and Quality (SHEQ)
Implement and drive compliance with health and safety procedures and standards.
Ensure that documentation required within the Total Integrated Management system, is applied consistently within scope of function.
Ensure that gates are kept locked and opened when required.
Activate and deactivate alarm systems accordingly.
Ensure that assigned engineering teams follow safety rules and regulations as per the Company’s safety plan.
Ensure machinery and equipment is stored in accordance with BOP's during the execution of daily tasks.
Secure and monitor access points to the premises.
Report theft and dangers on the premises and follow up on necessary action.
Record Keeping
Ensure that all maintenance certificates of compliance are issued and actioned according to the scheduled plan.
Supervision and Administration
Develop a work schedule for all activities to be performed.
Ensure that the team signs the attendance register, keep time cards and other routine records.
Monitor the leave register.
Organise meetings with the team and prepare inspection reports and action the non-conformances.
Supply daily feedback on the status of all the ground and building work in the daily engineering meeting.
