Position Overview
The Group Accountant - CA (SA) will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and accounting activities of the organization. This position is offered on a contract basis and requires an individual who is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) with proven experience in group accounting. The candidate should be familiar with reporting standards and have the ability to analyze and interpret financial data accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements for the group.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and reporting standards.
- Monitor and provide guidance on financial reporting requirements, both internally and externally.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and provide inputs to senior management.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of the group's annual financial statements.
- Review and analyze financial data and performance indicators to identify trends and potential risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
- Support the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Conduct regular financial reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
- Provide guidance and support to the finance team, including training and development initiatives.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
- Chartered Accountant (South Africa) qualification is essential.
- Previous experience in group accounting is required.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- HFM Experience is required.
