A leading international insurance company, based in Johannesburg, is seeking a Group Consolidations and Reporting Specialist to take control of the organisation's statutory financial reporting, audit, as well as assisting in providing technical support to subsidiaries of the business.

Key qualification and experience required for the Group Consolidations and Reporting Specialist:
* CA(SA) with 2-5 years PQE
* Previous experience of Financial Services Regulatory Reporting and current accounting statements, preferred
* A strong technical background with experience of financial reporting under IFRS constraints
* IFRS 17 knowledge (Highly advantageous)
* Consolidations and reconciliations experience
* Experience using CaseWare and Sage
* International African exposure would be preferable
* Ability to work with large data sets
* Strong interpersonal skills to assist in stakeholder management
Key duties required for the Group Consolidations and Reporting Specialist:
* Conduct quarterly preparation of consolidated results for the organisation.
* Establish and maintain robust controls and processes to ensure accurate and complete consolidation eliminations.
* Provide expert guidance on new accounting standards that may impact the Group and review accounting transactions for IFRS compliance.
* Thoroughly document all IFRS policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across all Group entities.
* Prepare the Group's financial statements and review subsidiaries' Available-for-Sale (AFS) statements to ensure adherence to IFRS guidelines.
* Customise the Group's and subsidiaries' financial statements, including disclosure notes, to comply with IFRS 17 (Audit & Risk Committee requirements).
* Oversee the External audit relationship and coordinate the consolidation audit process, delivering necessary materials to FRCC.
* Offer assistance with ad-hoc projects as they arise.
