We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Group Finance Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the reporting and managing of the group consolidation, group reporting, intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and other centralized group costs as well as the day-to-day accounting, tax, and statutory reporting of Holdco as well as non-operating entities within the group. The Senior Group Finance Controller will collaborate closely with various departments and regional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting of group-related costs that contribute to the overall success of our organization.
Key Job Functions
- Group Reporting:
- Preparation of monthly group consolidation, including running the intercompany matrix monthly and ensuring all intercompany transactions have been accurately accounted for.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the group Transfer Pricing Policy, including preparing monthly calculations of Transfer Pricing and distribution to country finance teams.
- Preparation of intercompany interest calculations on intercompany loans and ensuring these are accurately accounted for across the group.
- Responsible for preparing central schedules for in-country finance teams to use, these include, but are not limited to:
- Accounting for our Research and development projects, including capitalization of internally generated intangible assets.
- Prepare annual Research & Development Tax Credit claims.
- IFRS 16 schedules.
- Grant accounting for our donor-funded projects, including donor reporting and administering the audits of these projects.
- Assist the Head of Technical Reporting with ad-hoc projects, e.g., implementation of accounting policies.
- Non-operating Entities
- Financial accounting for M-KOPA UK, M-KOPA Holdings, and M-KOPA Hong Kong, includes, but is not limited to the following tasks:
- Preparation of month-end journals.
- Preparation of month-end management accounts.
- Preparation of monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
- Preparation of tax returns
- Preparation of year-end statutory financial statements in line with IFRS.
- Liaise with bankers, auditors, and external advisors.
- Review and approval of bank payments.
- Preparation of budgets/ forecasts.

- Annual Financial Statements drafted in line with IFRS.
- 1-3 years experience in a similar role.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred, but not required)
- Self-starter with an ownership mentality
- CA (SA)
- 1-3 years post-article experience (corporate/ audit manager)
