Our client is an international clinical research organization dedicated to enhancing global health and is seeking an ambitious and driven individual to join their team.
As the Group Financial Manager, your responsibilities include planning, implementing, managing, and running all the financial activities of the organisation. You will be responsible for developing a financial and operational strategy which may initially be hands-on with a focus on building a functioning finance team. The ability to also understand and engage with stakeholders effectively is of paramount importance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization's financial strategy, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Support growth and innovation through financial models and analysis.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and agility within the team.
- Maintain strong relationships with investors, suppliers, and regulators.
- Align financial strategies with stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
- Provide insightful financial reports to the executive team and board, including cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
- Implement cost-control measures to support innovation and growth.
- Identify process improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect financial health.
- Stay updated on market trends and potential financial risks.
- Provide data-driven insights for strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate the financial impact of projects and initiatives.
- Stay informed about financial technology trends and integrate relevant tools for process enhancement.
- Foster a culture of financial innovation.
- Lead and support the finance team during organisational changes, such as mergers, acquisitions, and growth.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
- Adapt and evolve the finance function to meet changing organisational needs.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for assessing the financial team's effectiveness.
- Regularly review and refine performance metrics to align with organizational goals.
- Ensure the highest ethical standards in financial activities.
- Maintain compliance with financial laws and regulations.
- CA (SA) is beneficial
- Proven experience in a similar financial leadership role
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Applications with excellent, advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of South African Tax Legislation
- Relevant experience within the medical or clinical research field would be an advantage.
- Market-Related: R1 200 000 - R1 440 000 (Depending on experience)
