Responsibilities
- Create and implement an annual Food Strategy for the Group with the COO, including team structure, strategic goals and guest feedback enhancement.
- Develop and implement strategic objectives for the food experience in camp, ensuring that it aligns with Wilderness values and goals.
- Lead and manage a team of culinary professionals to deliver exceptional food experiences for guests.
- Ensure that the food experience features local ingredients and showcases culinary talents, always staying up to date and relevant.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of the food experience, including coordinating with the procurement team for sourcing ingredients.
- Provide support and guidance to team members, helping them reach their full potential and exceed guests' expectations.
- Drive company processes, systems, and standards to ensure high quality and consistency in the food experience.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team and make necessary improvements to achieve excellence in the food experience.
- Manage external trainers ensuring strategic goals are being met.
- Monitor guest feedback and trends. Exceed guests' expectations by delivering high-quality and innovative food experiences
- Regional visits to evaluate standards and conduct training where necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within the food and beverage industry
- Strong knowledge of culinary trends and techniques
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Passion for delivering exceptional food experiences
- Experience in Wilderness or camp setting is a plus
- Ability to improve staff skills and to motivate them constantly.
