Job Purpose
The Head of Analytics is responsible for leading and managing the analytics function within the group. The role involves providing strategic direction, driving data-driven decision-making, and overseeing the development and implementation of advanced analytics solutions. The Head of Analytics will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, develop actionable insights, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a clear analytical vision and strategy for group, which is aligned with the organization's goals. This includes collaborating with executive management to identify opportunities and prioritize analytical initiatives to drive business growth within the group and Foster a culture of analytical thinking, continuous learning, innovation, and excellence within the group.
- Lead and mentor a team of analytics professionals and foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence within the team.
- Oversee data collection, storage, and integration processes to ensure data quality, accuracy, and security. Champion data governance practices to maintain data consistency and compliance with regulations.
- Utilize advanced analytics techniques and tools to extract valuable insights from structured and unstructured data. Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for various stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide real-time and historical data insights to key stakeholders across the organization. Ensure data-driven decision-making is promoted at all levels.
- Drive the development and implementation of predictive and prescriptive analytics models to forecast trends, identify opportunities, and optimize business processes.
- Ensure the effective communication of analytical findings through compelling data visualizations and presentations that are accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with other departments and group companies, such as Marketing, Finance, and Distribution, to support their analytical needs and align analytics initiatives with business objectives.
- Stay up to date with the latest analytics tools, technologies, and methodologies. Evaluate and recommend suitable software and infrastructure improvements to enhance the analytics capabilities of the organization.
- Grade 12
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics or related fields.
- Honours or masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics or related fields. (Beneficial)
- Strong understanding of database structures, data warehousing, and data integration techniques.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and their application to business problems.
- Proficiency in using analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Minimum 8 years experience in the Wholesale and Retail Industry in senior Analytics/innovation role.
