Head of Content
Were looking for a passionate storyteller with exceptional communication skills to lead content production for the global group.
The Head of Content ensures that the Groups narrative, tone of voice and key messages permeate all content produced globally and will be the lead for content ideation and creation. You believe that data, relationships and stories, when masterfully woven together, have the power to build brands and change public narratives.
Your focus will be on driving brand awareness and understanding, through delivering market leading content and messaging into key markets positioning Apex Group as top voice and thought leader in our industry.
Role Responsibilities
- You will work closely with the Content Operations manager to ensure content efficiencies are continually assessed and optimised.
- Working with the senior Marketing and Comms leadership team and Chie Marketing and Communications Officer you will drive content strategy and determine which assets are produced and prioritised in line with campaign requirements.
- You will be required to both write, edit and proof-read content at different stages of the content production lifecycle.
- You will liaise with external agencies and work closely with the content operations manager to assess workload and meet deadlines.
- You will constantly look for ways to update, rework and repurpose content to maximise content value and speed to market.
- You will support the marketing operations manager in asserting that the newly defined content operations model is enforced with both marketing team mates and broader stakeholders.
- You will have strong prioritisation skills to know when to push back on content requests and when to deliver them.
- You will be responsible for ensuring all content produced is in line with campaign strategy and supports campaign execution.
- Research & analysis - Define and execute projects to advance our brand narrative and thought leadership through primary research.
- Partnering with the content operations manager to develop and execute the global annual Brand Survey and analysing those insights to develop strategic content and brand messaging direction in key markets.
- Communications - Partner with our Head of Media to align commercial activity with media outreach and opeds to maximise efficiencies and ROI on editorial spend.
- Oversee and work with the Demand team to ensure all paid content opportunities align with content strategy and brand narrative objectives.
- You will manage the Content Manager/Assistant and be the guardian of the Apex Group tone of voice.
- Work closely with the Head of Content & Comms and Head of CSR to deliver an annual sustainability report based on in-depth ESG analysis and support the distribution and marketing strategy for that report.
- Maintain a competitor watch to deliver insights to the business, product and sales teams regularly.
- Repurpose long-form content as required to support the social media strategy and thought leadership email marketing tactics.
- Discover white-space for developing the Apex Group brand authority in line with strategic objectives ensuring we always have a strong presence and stand-out message within the industry
- You will have a strong background in financial services content development and/or communications.
- You will be required to have strong capabilities in relationship building, stakeholder management
- 10+ years of experience, within marketing, comms and research roles including a mix of academic training, work experience in a research and/or marketing, comms and content leadership role in the financial services space.
- The ability to breakdown long form content into interesting and engaging copy for different requirements.
- Data skills & storytelling: Youre comfortable talking data or putting together a research design, but youre equally skilled in extracting insights and crafting data stories that dont just summarize the findings but translate them, making them relevant to your audience(s)
- Strong interpersonal and, especially, verbal communication skills you can persuasively deliver information to media, customers, prospects, or executives and they want to hear more
