Key Responsibilities:
- Support Function: Provide comprehensive support to engineering teams and departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and efficient execution of engineering activities.
- Budget Management and Control: Develop, manage, and oversee the engineering budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
- Optimization and Investigations: Lead efforts to optimize engineering processes and address engineering challenges through rigorous investigation and problem-solving.
- Project Management: Oversee engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to scope, and effective management of resources and stakeholders.
- Costing and Capital: Manage costing and capital expenditure for engineering initiatives, ensuring financial prudence and alignment with project budgets.
- Risk Management and Legal Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering activities, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Asset Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of engineering assets, ensuring their optimal performance and longevity.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the ongoing maintenance and improvement of infrastructure, addressing any issues promptly to maintain operational efficiency.
- Engineering Processes and Systems: Develop and implement robust engineering processes and systems to enhance operational effectiveness and support organizational objectives.
- Strategic Leadership and Influence: Provide strategic direction and leadership to engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- SHERQ Adherence and Compliance: Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) standards within your area of responsibility, promoting a safe and compliant work environment.
- Work Ethics: Uphold the highest standards of work ethics, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to organizational values.
- Minimum of ten (10) years operational Engineering (appointed Section Engineer) and Production experience within a mining and plant environment
- Minimum of five (5) years Project Management experience.
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
- Government certificate of competence (Mines and Works) certificate in Engineering.
- Post graduate qualification (MSc, MBA, MDP, Management or related.
- Qualification in middle management or equivalent.
