Key Responsibilites
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Financial Accounting to oversee and manage critical financial functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering key outcomes in balance sheet management, financial reporting, credit control, accounts payable, internal controls, inventory management, audit, tax, treasury, and working capital. The incumbent is required to demonstrate proven experience in financial leadership roles with a focus on accounting and finance functions. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices. Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Balance Sheet Management: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly balance sheets reconciliations Monitor and analyze financial data to provide insights for decision-making.
- Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including but not limited to, group reporting and annual financial statements Responsible for handling any queries related to the financial reporting in a timely manner. Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant financial information and collate into a report highlighting key insights to the CFO
- Credit Control: Implement and manage effective credit control processes. Evaluate and mitigate credit risks, ensuring optimal cash flow. Maintain relevant SOP and ensure that there is appropriate awareness by key stakeholders in the process
- Accounts Payable: Oversee accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments. Streamline vendor management and payment procedures.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal control mechanisms. Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures. Ensure that SOPs in the finance division are relevant and aligned to current business processes
- Inventory Management: Implement efficient inventory management systems ensuring that healthy stock days cover is maintained Optimize inventory levels to support operational needs.
- Audit & Tax: Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax reporting.
- Treasury: Manage cash flow and liquidity to support day-to-day operations. Maintain a rolling 3 month cash flow forecast Implement effective treasury strategies to optimize financial resources. Responsible for the relationship with the bank, ensuring that facility requirements are adhered to
- Working Capital: Monitor and manage working capital requirements in line with targets Develop strategies to enhance working capital efficiency.
CA (SA)
10 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles.
Experience in the FMCG sector is highly desirable.
