We are seeking a dynamic Divisional Head: Industrial Automation - Gauteng to spearhead and enhance the Industrial Automation division within the Gauteng Branch, with a comprehensive oversight that extends to branch management functions. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and developing operations, including business development, sales, order processing, planning, administration, and key branch management functions.
Business Strategy And Development
An exciting opportunity awaits in our Automation Division in Gauteng, focusing on the growth, development, and maintenance of relationships with key customers and employees within our Automation Division. The role responsibilities are as follows:
- Drive the business forward, implement strategic initiatives, analyze the market, and expand the customer base within Gauteng.
- Determine customer requirements and collaborate with the sales team to derive solution proposals.
- Visit key customers, build and maintain relationships, provide sales reporting, manage sales teams to budgets, address challenges, and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
- Set the budget for the Regional Automation Division.
- Ensure the correct and full utilization of the company's CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
- Develop new and innovative business ideas.
- Research markets for which the HOD is responsible, both new and existing.
- Participate in regional meetings to discuss challenges, business opportunities, and performance.
- Collaborate with other Rubicon group companies to share and co-develop joint business opportunities.
- Maintain supplier relationships and define sales channels.
- Engage suppliers on sales, marketing, and training.
- Intervene in account matters, product warranty issues, and supplier interactions.
- Set stock levels in line with the regional growth plan, market demands, and catalogue requirements.
- Oversee branch management functions, including warehousing, logistics, budgets, and finance.
- Interact with senior staff at Rubicon and Rubicon Group to ensure compliance with all required administrative and corporate governance standards.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of the Automation Division from an administrative and planning perspective.
- Manage day-to-day order processing and logistical requirements.
- Implement systems and controls to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Collaborate on Automation Pillar brands with key System Integrators and End/Factory Customers.
- Assist the Industrial Technology team in developing the Business Strategy.
- Investigate Market Opportunities within our customer portfolio to drive the Automation Strategy.
- Regularly meet to discuss the Automation pipeline, challenges, and projects.
- Document all activities within the company CRM.
- Regularly attend supplier training.
- Stay up to date on the latest technology developments.
- Provide insights into market trends and directions.
- Facilitate training for the Industrial Technology Sales team.
- Required: Bachelors Degree / NQF7.
- +5yrs Professional and industry experience in sales of technical products and systems.
- +5yrs business management experience.
- Beneficial: Electrical Engineering Qualification &/or Business Administration.
- Ability to travel nationally when required.
- Own vehicle and driver's licence.
- Highly computer literate with proficiency in common operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Competent professional business written and verbal communication skills.
