Job Overview
Accountable for profitable growth of the organization under the Managing Directors authority. Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and reviewing the day-to-day operations and major functions of KELE commercial and operations through site managers and corporate support managers. Required to participate on the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Business, Financial & Technical results
- Directs annual business plans and strategy execution for profitable growth of the business.
- Monitor and measure progress against operations financial targets to meet customer and shareholder expectations.
- Prioritise and allocate resources for optimal return on investment. (ROI)
- Identifies areas of potential cost reduction, process improvement or policy change.
- Compile, manage and monitor of budgets for all projects.
- Leading and managing safety and high-performance Culture results
- Set up annual goals (short and long term) for operations and departments, aligned to strategic plans and objectives.
- Manage the performance of multiple operations.
- Lead and guide the development of annual operational plans that support projects implementation and provide effective implementation structures for their delivery.
- Lead and guide the culture transformation strategy to create a diverse and high performing workforce.
- Develop and maintain efficient and effective internal systems, including appropriate organisational and performance monitoring systems, reporting and record keeping systems.
- Lead the development and evolution of the organization through improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes both internally and externally and encourage continuous improvement.
- Provide best practices and drive high quality standards throughout the organization and its operations.
- Governance, Risks, Regulatory and Legal Compliance
- Monitor all regulatory and legal compliance issues affecting the environment in which operates.
- Assess, manage, and escalates timely the potential risks to the organization.
- Monitor the implementation of the risk management strategy and compliance.
- Manage Customer and Relationship Results
- Uphold the Reputation of the Company
- Understand and clarify the Clients requirements.
- Establish the necessary platforms for opportunistic stakeholder engagements and client feedback.
- Seek and communicate the satisfaction levels of the clients with the contracted services.
Qualifications & experience required
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mining/Engineering or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification.
- Contract Management and or Project management qualification.
- Finance qualification will be an added advantage
- Contract Management and or Project management qualification.
- Qualification Finance or Commercial Law
- Eight years plus previous Management experience with at least 3 years in heavy mobile equipment (HME/TMM)
- Five years plus experience managing a medium contractor mining operation with exposure to open cast mining.
- Extensive experience in dealing with Clients at all levels.
- Entrepreneur with proven record of managing businesses and or successful turnaround strategies within the mining contracting, or heavy mobile equipment (HME/TMM) operations
- Medically fit
- Legal appointment in terms of the applicable regulations of both the Occupational and Mines Health and Safety Acts (OHSA & MHSA)
