The Head of Operations (Installation and Construction) will be responsible for the following key areas being accountable for the diligent execution of the construction and installation of the wind farms.
- Lead, coordinate and manage the Project with the target of complying with the schedule, quality and budget requirements.
- Lead, develop and manage the Operations organization and coordinate their activities.
- Plan and organize the projects development, coordinating the human and material resources which are required to run it and managing their opportune highs and lows in the Project.
- Lead representation with the Project Manager, Contractors and other third parties on any matter relating to the Project.
- Report to the functional responsible and DIN on the progress and performance of the projects, dysfunctions, lessons learnt, and good practices.
- Provide technical support to Sales department.
HSE
- Comply with and ensure all managed personnel and subcontractors comply with the requirements contained in the health and safety plan and any other safety or environmental directive or regulation applicable to the project.
- Notify and take immediate measures in front of the detection of any risk issue or problem.
- Ensure that everything in relation to the project complies with general Nordex HSE regulations and local statutory HSE in the respective country.
- Execute duties as the appointed 16 (2) as per the OHS Act No 86 of 1993
- Safety Walks & Talks shall be performed per set targets.
- Lead, coordinate and manage the Project with the target of complying with the schedule, quality and budget requirements.
- Approving and distributing all documentation relating to the Project (planning, budget, commercial conditions, technical specifications and important technical documentation)
- Support sourcing, I&C team
- Establish and manage the Matrix of Communications
- Manage Suppliers / Subcontractors on site (Logistics, Quality)
- Create, monitor and update the project planning and actions if needed.
- Review, control and consolidate the extra costs.
- Overseeing the works in the wind farm. Monitoring of project milestones and general coordination of the activity area staff.
- Support site team to prepare claims with Main Subcontractors on site (TCI and BOP)
- Set up regular site team Meetings.
- Manage with Site Manager the construction contract (TSA)
- Identify deviations in time/cost and risk during construction phase.
- Support I&C project forecast review.
- Manage claims forward to CLIENT through Project Manager
- Ensure compliance with all quality standards and legislation always with the focus of a smooth handover of the WTG/WF to the customer and Service.
- Ensure implementation of NCR process and cost recoveries
- Handover to Service
- Prepare operations lessons learned.

- Ability to deal with several issues concurrently and under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Leadership skills, ability to build a proactive, focused team, integrating members drawn from various support departments, such as erection supervisors and commissioning engineers, and local service engineers.
- Ability to work with different business cultures.
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related discipline is preferred. Other degrees or qualifications will be considered proving extensive experience in relevant industries.
- Minimum 5 years experience in operative project execution and construction site management for complex technical projects either in the civil construction, manufacturing and plant engineering industry, the wind turbine or similar
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete large-scale projects, managing multidisciplinary teams.
