- Strategic planning and management of the entire Payfast by network product portfolio in South Africa
- Definition and alignment of the Payfast vision and strategy to the product roadmap in order to establish Payfast as the leading payment solution provider in South Africa
- Lead a product management team in which you motivate and achieve steady improvements in your area
- Create and present visionary innovations, strategic decision proposals, as well as the calculation of business cases
- Establish long term goals for the product portfolio while keeping in mind short term objectives that will help achieve organisational goals
- Analyse customer feedback in order to identify areas where improvements can be made to existing products or new products can be developed
- Brainstorm new product ideas and concepts with a team of designers, engineers, and other stakeholders
- Develop detailed specifications and plans for new products, including prototypes or models to test the design concept
- Manage budgets for new product development projects ensuring that all costs are within the specified budgets
- Work with marketing team to develop strategies for promoting new products to merchants
- Research emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for growth within the industry
- Evaluate the success of new products based on performance metrics such as sales volume, profit margins, and customer satisfaction levels
- Ongoing monitoring and tracking of product P&Ls
- At least 10 years of experience in the field of software, eCommerce, payment related technology, marketing or product management.
- Relevant Bachelors degree in either Commerce / Information Technology would be advantageous.
- At minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in the fintech and/or payment space.
- Great people skills paired with a high level of assertiveness
- Very good communication and organisation skills order to communicate with management and senior management as well as with employees and colleagues
- Strong analytical, strategic and coordinating skills
- You are a leader and an entrepreneur that people willingly follow
- Sound knowledge and understanding of business and technology
- Ability to interact with business unit managers and executives regarding mitigation plans, strategies, and progress towards recovery goals, contingency plans, and planning activities.
- Solid understanding of ecommerce platforms, banking and scheme landscape and regulatory / compliance entities.
- Certifications in product management / agile product management and/or project management would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills used within a team environment.
- Pro-active and self-starter who can work with limited supervision.
