Key Purpose
Discovery Marketing s looking for an experienced Divisional Manager to be seconded to the role of Group Head of Social Media for a period of 4 -5 months. You will lead the social media strategy for the Group including the management of Discovery social media platforms, defining the strategy, operations, and planning for execution across all social channels. You will mine for and leverage social listening insights and other research inputs to optimise the social strategy across channels and influence future social content strategies. You will also manage the strategic relationships with the social platforms to drive collaboration.
Education And Experience
- Bachelors Degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
- Post graduate qualification advantageous
- Experience in partnering cross-functionally and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including the C-suite.
- Experience in building strong relationships internally and externally while earning confidence of key stakeholders in the business
- 3+ years experience working with external partners/agencies
- An understanding of social media management and measurement tools will be advantageous
- Experience in system projects will be advantageous
- Proven experience to understand analytics and apply insights into action
- Proven experience in leading creative concepts will be advantageous
- Lead the Social Media group function ensuring the social media strategy is engaging, on-brand and aimed at our target personas
- Manage the two social media specialists to ensure that the right work is prioritised and executed in line with the social media strategy and plan
- Manage the social media calendar across brands and content teams
- Define and drive the execution of the executive social profile strategy
- Ensure social media reporting and insights are shared with the relevant stakeholders including Executives with a managed LinkedIn account
- Manage the selection and potential implementation of a new social media marketing and servicing tool in collaboration with the vendors, users and systems teams
- Ensure social media sites are kept up to date at all times and visual imagery is on brand.
- Ensure image and asset briefs are clear and well written to ensure high quality images and video assets are produced.
