Project Manager

Job description:

The purpose of the role is to work within the Operations department to ensure that resources (internal and contracted) are lead and managed to insure that projects are not only delivered as expected but, exceed the project success criteria. The project manager is expected to report to the Operations Manager, plan, monitor, control and coordinate all active projects with the aim to deliver time, within budget and in line with all the required levels of quality and safely. The project manager will be responsible for effectively managing all risks associated with the project and escalate risks, issues and opportunities to the Project Director whilst ensuring that all stakeholders (including the client) are effectively communicated with and updated on project progress.The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that a project plan is created and signed off by the Operations Manager and key stakeholders. The project plan must consist of scope definition, cost estimate, schedule, quality, safety and the identification of potential risks (threats & opportunities) all of which are established during the project Kick-Off. Once the plan is in place the Project Manager will be responsible for monitoring, controlling and expediting activities during project execution, updating the project management documentation, identifying & escalating risks, coordinating management meetings and preparing status reports. At project close, the Project Manager is responsible to assist the Operations Manager with conducting a full project review.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Project Management Capability: Work closely with the Project Team and group PMO to develop process and build capability that enables Helios Towers to exceed its customers expectations during project delivery
Budget and Cost Control:Develop and manage budgets for operations and maintenance. Implement cost-saving measures while maintaining high-quality standards. Identify opportunities for cost optimization in site maintenance.
Quality: Management of Project Quality Plan to ensure a systematic methodology for verifying all Quality Control related activities throughout the project including the responsibility for the management and co-ordination of all project specifications, drawings and inspection, test & commissioning plans, gaining necessary approvals and ensuring the distribution and availability of information
Communication: Establish, lead and motivate the project team and identify all project stakeholders, including executive management and the external customer, ensuring that an appropriate communication plan is in place and executed to keep all project personnel informed of project status, risks and opportunities
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:Identify potential risks associated with maintenance on towers and IBS projects. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Sales & Operations Planning: Responsible for ensuring projects in the sales pipeline are defined and planned as required by the Sales & Operations Planning process to make sure the business is ready to execute once the Instruction to Proceed is signed
Health & Safety: Must be conversant with and be able to demonstrate a proactive risk based approach to EHS, ideally with experience obtained through formal recognised training programs and on the job supervision
Resource Management: Management of all materials, manpower and subcontractors required for the execution of the project. The project manager has full or partial responsibility of selection, sourcing and scheduling of materials and sub-contracted services in line with the project schedule
Project Management Process: Projects to be executed in line with the defined Helios Towers Project Management processes. The Project Manager is responsible to ensure that all databases, templates & reporting are kept up to date in a timely and accurate fashion in accordance with the company requirements
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement through structured project reviews and work with the Group and OpCo project management teams to improve process, quality and safety standards. Actively participate in building the global capability of the project management team through coaching and mentoring
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including asset records, maintenance logs, and project reports. Generate comprehensive reports for management and clients.
In-Building Solutions (IBS) Knowledge: Possess deep understanding of IBS/DAS technologies and Small Cell Networks. Collaborate with engineering teams to plan, implement, and optimize IBS projects. Ensure compliance with IBS standards and regulations.
Specific Focus areas:
o Corrective actions identified on tower inspections
o Site decommissioning
o Upgrade projects required on the towers
o Ensure all towers comply with group requirements
o Ensure tower information is correct and up to date and in a good state
o Asset verifications on sites (Passive and Active)
o IBS deployment and maintenance
