Purpose of this role:

As a Shops Vertical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and managing and creating key partnerships within a specific vertical or industry segment. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of the ecommerce retail landscape, and the ability to cultivate and nurture relationships with clients and partners.

This role will also be responsible for delivering on key metrics for the Shops vertical on Mr D.

Key responsibilities / accountabilities:

Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and market penetration within the assigned vertical.
• Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies with overall business objectives.

Client Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients within the assigned vertical.
• Act as the main point of contact for national client inquiries, concerns, and strategic discussions.
• Ensure client satisfaction and loyalty through effective communication and problem resolution.

Partnership Development:

• Identify, negotiate, and establish partnerships with relevant businesses and organizations within the assigned vertical.
• Collaborate with partners to develop joint marketing initiatives and promotions.
• Evaluate and optimize existing partnerships for mutual benefit.

Operational Excellence:

• Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery within the assigned vertical.
• Deliver on Shops key performance indicators (KPIs) including but not limited to GMV, Commission and Order Volumes.
• Monitor key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implement improvement strategies.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and work towards continuous improvement.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Utilize data analytics to evaluate the performance of the vertical and make data-driven recommendations.
• Prepare regular reports on key metrics, trends, and insights for internal and external stakeholders.
• Cross functional collaboration and project lead
• Responsible for cross functional project management on all Shops related projects

Skills, knowledge and abilities:

• Strong understanding of online retail and its unique challenges and opportunities.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
• Results-oriented with a focus on achieving targets and KPIs.

Qualifications and experience:

• Relevant Degree (business studies, retail management, etc).
• Minimum 2-3 years work experience in an Ecommerce Retail and/or Marketplace Environment/Online B2B
• Proven experience in a leadership role within the ecommerce industry or a related field.
