The Sommelier (trained and knowledgeable wine professional) is responsible for creating the highest level of wine, champagne, and customer service in the restaurant.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Responsible for the recommendation and sales of wines and other beverages to guests
• Work towards target revenue per guests and revenue per month.
• Monitor all beverage storage facilities to ensure proper storage techniques are being handled
• Maintain clean and orderly wine cellars.
• Adhere to all purchasing and stock control procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Fluent English speaker
High School Diploma
Level 1 or an equivalent wine degree preferred
At least 1-2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in hotels or restaurants
Must undergo training on an ongoing basis
Ability to display warmth and hospitality
Flexible and long hours sometimes required
At least 2 years of Beverage experience in a related field
Knowledgeable about the pairing of wine with food is imperative
