The Hub will be responsible for the dispatch, receipt and management of parcels within Takealot & Superbalist. It's primary objective therefore centres around strict timelines, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
This position reports to the General Manager: Primary Logistics.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Be responsible for the overall running of the facility and all other secondary roles which flow from this function
- Ensure operations costs are in line with budget
- Ensures the on-time delivery of product to/from the distribution centre
- Responsible for implementation and effective utilization of system(s) which will ensure that all product within the warehouse and/or entering or leaving the warehouse is accurately identified and distributed/delivered timeously
- Ensure efficient warehousing with timeous movement of product.
- Extracts data and generates reports which will assist in performance tracking and decision making.
- Ensure consistent application of Company policies and procedures.
- Trains and supervise employees to carry out the functions under their control.
- Implement and maintain health and safety standards
- Must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of the work area and other company standards
- Identifies value-creation opportunities for the company in the movement and distribution of the product.
- Works closely with senior management and Human Resources to resolve issues and ensure quality service to our customers.
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, or replacements for machines.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Results driven individual who has demonstrated ability working in a high performance environment.
- Must have good attention to details, and be able to manage the big picture and continuous changes in customer requests and deliveries of product.
- Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good understanding of business principles and practices; can effectively manage the materials function with a bottom line result.
- Matric - Degree or Diploma in logistics/Supply Chain is advantageous.
