Qualifications
- Matric
- Diploma/ Degree in Human Resources or equivalent
- 3 -5 years' experience in in similar role
- 2 years' experience in a financial services industry
- Knowledge of latest legislation, BCEA, EE, LRA, BBBEE and market best practice.
- Ability to handle and process confidential information.
- Awareness of organisational development, succession planning and Talent management
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Contribute to cost savings effort
- Assist in ensuring that HR team and business keep within agreed human capital budgets.
- Work efficiently in order to reduce costs within area of responsibility.
- Continuously innovate to promote cost saving opportunities.
Drive customer service
- Analyse and assess business requirements to provide timeous fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Assist in streamlining services to clients (both external and internal)
- Assist in fielding queries and complaints to ensure client satisfaction.
- Process supplier payments and manage records thereof and keep record of invoices ensuring no duplication.
Ensure operational efficiencies and effectiveness
Recruitment, Onboarding
- Responsible for the recruitment of permanent and temporary employees, e.g. liaising with the recruitment team, candidates and Line Managers, monitoring applications, preparing job descriptions and conducting interviews.
- Responsible for the coordination of new joiners from approving offer letters, onboarding, contracts, arranging induction training and monitoring their probation process.
- Ensure audit of onboarding process in line with the check list
- Ensure vacancy approvals are done and approved for each role and track all applicants on breezy.
- Engage with line manager to create competency and technical questions.
- Send a list of all new employees to Learning withing agreed timelines.
- Ensure recruitment or appointments are meeting transformation/ EE plan and legislation requirements.
- Ensure department Inductions are completed.
- Track that all managers have contracted their direct reporting lines in the beginning of the financial year and for new joiners.
- Assist HCBP with ensuring that regular annual and mid-year performance reviews are carried out for all employees, monitoring and administering the process.
- When required, assist the HCBP and collaborate with line managers in implementing disciplinary procedures in accordance with the Bank policies.
- Take a proactive role in monitory the Performance Improvement Process (PIP).
- Contribute and provide input into succession plans and keeping data recorded.
- Where appropriate, conducting return to work interviews, following periods of absence.
- Assisting with drafting new and reviewing policies and procedures with supervision.
- Assist with drafting or reviewing warnings.
- Prepare disciplinary packs and represent HC in disciplinary hearings and ensure all matters are recorded.
- Represent the Bank at reconciliation at CCMA.
- Assist with guiding employees on HC procedures and policies.
- Building strong relationships with external regulatory authorities.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of local employment legislation and best practice policies and procedures in all matters relating to human capital.
- Advising colleagues on matters in a confidential manner to provide guidance and support on welfare issues, referring matters to the HCBP where appropriate.
- Acting as a point of reference for staff with queries regarding policy, procedures, and other related matters.
- Responsibility for processing the monthly payroll/input.
- Ensuring the accurate maintenance and security of HC records for all staff and assisting in general administration duties for the department.
- Accurate recording of information in Management Information Systems, ensuring monthly submission deadlines are met.
- Assist with tracking leaning plans and collaborate with Learning Team to ensure implementation.
- Assist with identifying gaps and engage learning and HCBP with potential solutions.
- Facilitate employee engagement focus groups discussions and develop action plans to address focus areas.
- Organize several events in line with employee wellness days.
- Report any OHS related matters to HCBP and OHS department to ensure health and safety.
- Assist with employee referral to ICAS.
- Ensure administration and submission of all ill-health cases as per incapacity process.
- Process, verify and maintain documentation relating to employee activities such as training, grievances, disciplinary, performance reviews.
- Coordinate monthly invoices and ensure they are paid.
- Responsible for minutes drafting during HR meetings.

- Ensure business is kept informed on the progress of deliverables or queries.
- Identify problem areas and ensure corrective action is taken.
- REPORTING
- Responsible for updating and reporting various organization organogram monthly.
- Compile and submit various monthly reports to HCBP including, HR stats, headcount reporting, leave, er cases, exit interview feedback etc.
- Relay all new information gained to the HCBP and Team so that suitable strategies can be developed and implemented.
- Responsible for running HR projects as and when required.
- Responsible for adhoc administration.
- LEARNING AND GROWTH
- Constantly learn about the HR profession, by subscribing to the relevant publications and by attending and participating in relevant training.
- Attend local events and other relevant HR training sessions, reading bulletins and local publications and other relevant literature.
