HR Business Analyst: Tester

This entry level position involves all aspects of the system development life cycle that assists with achieving business solutions, company objectives and departmental goals, and to support system improvements within the HR Department. A core responsibility involves end-to-end system testing, execution of quality assurance test strategies, test plans and test cases.

The junior business analyst will serve as an interface between Business, external IT partners and other information technology suppliers, to ensure optimal business processes and functionality is developed and maintained to execute the business strategy.

KNOWLEDGE required:
  • Proficiency in business process mapping tools, preferably MS Visio and ARIS.
  • Highly proficient in the latest versions of MS Office
  • Proficiency in the Business Analysis methodologies, preferably BABOK.
  • Familiar with Project Management methodologies, preferably PMBOK.
  • Familiar with AGILE software development methods as part of SDLC.
  • High proficiency in testing methodologies to manage five levels of testing.
  • Creation of detailed test plans and test cases to support user acceptance.
  • Facilitate workshops and conduct data gathering from business elicitation.
  • Translate technical requirements into business and functional specifications.
  • Present of business processes and system solutions to all stakeholders.
  • Implement business solutions and coordinate Change Management.
  • Central repository documentation updates with version control.
  • Customer relations through networking and collaboration.

Experience Required

Essential:
  • Business Analyst exposure: system analysis; business process modelling, facilitation of workshops; preparation of analyst documentation in accordance with BABOK methodology.
  • System support exposure: maintain an incident management process; analyse the nature of incidents; liaising with system developers and teams in order to resolve incidents.
  • Elicitation and documenting of business and functional requirements.
  • Co-ordination of quality assurance and testing.
Preferred:
  • Experience in Human Resources environment
  • Thorough grasp of business fundamentals and strategic priorities.
  • Some experience in a software development role.
  • Exposure to system architecture.
  • Digital exposure within Retail.
Qualifications Required

Essential:
  • Degree or National diploma in business analysis or equivalent qualification.
Preferred:
  • Bachelors degree or National diploma in information technology
  • Affiliation to a professional institution for Business Analysis (IIBA)
  • Affiliation to a professional institution for Project Management
