Our client, a well-known South African company in the financial services sector is on the search for a Human Resources Business Partner who is available immediately to join their team for a 6-month contract, who will be responsible for creating & enabling an environment to drive performance & employee engagement across the respective departments within the company. This will be achieved by partnering with management & business to define & implement relevant & appropriate plans to improve individual, team, & business effectiveness, to enhance the overall performance of the business through it's people.
Requirements:
- Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent
- 5 years' generalist HR experience
- Knowledge & understanding of all South African labour legislation
- CCMA processes & procedures
Employee Relations
- Advise and support line manager with regards to all ER queries
- Ensure all ER procedures meet both procedural and substantive fairness principles
- Support line managers by drafting letters of concern, warnings, drawing up charges and on the outcomes of disciplinary enquiries
- Respond to all appeals from employees related disciplinary enquiries
- If required, represent the Business at CCMA on relevant matters and ensure bundles and witnesses are prepared in time for the CCMA hearing
- Monitor all trends relating to employees (late-coming, absence, prior discipline etc.) and advise management on a course of action in line with Business policy
- Conduct one on one exit interviews
- Coordinate work experience for students
- Drive performance and career discussions within your departments
- Coach and support line managers on how to hold effective performance and career discussions
- Educate and advise line managers on performance improvement meetings
- Encourage the recognition of employees
- Manage and coordinate all planned wellness initiatives
- Support employees with any queries which relate to medical aid, retirement fund, payslips and or leave etc.
- Monitor all sick leave trends monthly
- Assist line managers with injury on duty (OID) claims
- Comply with Business policies and procedures and prevailing legislation that govern HR practices and principles
- Review HR policies and process documents
- Adhere to the procurement process when sourcing vendors for recruitment and planned HR events
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all levels and at all time
- Partner with Learning and Development to identify and source appropriate learning interventions
- Prepare monthly HR reports
- Maintain the integrity of employee files and employee data
- Prepare various letters, arrange meetings, coordinate functions or events, order and control stationery
- Support payroll by capturing/ loading any new employees on the HR system
- Support the HR team and Business with new and innovate initiatives that support the Business and HR strategy
