Key Purpose
The HR Business Partner oversees the people management function in this capacity and offers relevant advice to Discovery Health Systems, Health Digital and Health Special Projects management about people and procedural issues.
Through engagement with leadership and the people community (Discovery People & Discovery Health People), the position provides management and staff with value-added services that align with business objectives.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
- Establish HR strategy in a critical skill environment by collaborating with company leadership.
- Regular engagement with executive and senior stakeholders to guarantee the accomplishment of strategic goals and the success of the business case.
- Oversee the human resources strategy for Discovery Health Systems, Discovery HealthCare Services, Health Digital, and Special Projects.
- Analyse industry benchmarks, metrics, and people trends in the digital and systems business to create effective policies, programmes, and solutions.
- Adequately update and report into the relevant Excos, Steercom, the external assurance consultant, auditors, and risk committees.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Lead employee consultations and brainstorming sessions with the management team to deliver the finest HR solutions for technology and Special Projects teams.
- Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Manage the development, engagement, and wellness of the Discovery Health Systems, Special Projects, and Health Digital teams.
- Manage the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Advice on personnel planning, succession planning, and restructures.
- Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently.
- Maintain company organization charts and employee directory.

- Provide support and guidance to HR staff.

- Bachelors degree in human resources management, Industrial Psychology, or equivalent qualification from a recognised University
- Post Graduate Diploma in Management/Business Admin would be advantageous.
- 8 years of HR management experience, five of which need to be in a managerial capacity.
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Experience in a systems/ technology environment would be advantageous.
