Human Resources Manager - Cape Region - Tsebo Cleaning

Duties & Responsibilities

Implementation and management of the HR Strategy and key priorities:
  • Lead implementation of Human Resources strategies, initiatives in the region
  • Analyse and identify key business challenges in the region, design solutions in liaison with the HRD and RD
  • Oversee, manage the remuneration and benefit for the region
  • Managing information to ensure effectiveness of all HR functions in the region
  • Formulate divisional HR strategy in line with the Group HR strategy and divisional business goals Team management, leadership and influence
  • Provide clear direction and leadership to the HR and Ops team in close liaison with the RD and the HRD
  • Set and manage the HR team in accordance with objectives and goals Management, development of human capital capability and resources within the region
  • Ensure that the development and implementation of Training and Management development programmes provide the organization with relevant skills in order to achieve its objectives Effective management of employee relations and engagement
  • Maintain an appropriate Industrial Relations environment and sound working relationships with Unions
  • Display a comprehensive understanding of labour legislation and ensure compliance by the division at all levels
  • To support the drive to achieve high level employee engagement in keeping with group objectives strategies and processes
  • Provide guidance and training to Management on IR related processes
  • Monitor and facilitate (where applicable) appeal/grievance hearings and or processes
  • Monitor and manage trade union relations
  • Sign off on all collective agreements before final recommendation to the MD and HRD Risk mitigation and management
  • HR/IR risk management and or mitigation
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable legislation and collective agreements
  • Monitor compliance to all Industrial Relations related policies and processes
  • Custodian of all HR policies and procedures
  • Guideline management and employees on disciplinary processes Payroll/Employee benefits
  • To plan and support change initiatives within the division on a project basis
  • Coordinate and manage performance management processes and monitor progress/implementation
  • Manage all payroll and or benefits related processes including data processing, records management, data integrity etc
  • Revision and monitoring of Payroll Model within budgetary constraints Oversight and management of organisational transformation and compliance
  • Understand divisional annual and 5-year EE and PWD targets, manage accordingly
  • Ensure plans are in place to drive achievement of set targets Resourcing and Talent Management
  • Oversight of resourcing/recruitment process to ensure compliance to policy and procedure and quality of hires
  • Ensure evaluation of selected candidates
  • Oversight of critical vacancies within the division
  • Ensure proactive resourcing initiatives
  • Manage and direct the activities of divisional HR team to ensure the achievement of strategic goals and targets
  • Optimize the allocation of business resources to address Human Resource Management requirements
  • Implement and maintain appropriate talent management actions
  • Support mobilisation of new projects and integration into the region
  • Ensure that succession plans are in place for strategic roles and managed accordingly
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong commercial approach
  • Strong Industrial Relations and Collective Labour Relations experience, including ability to handle disputes up to arbitration levels at the CCMA or bargaining council
  • Strong HR administrative and HR projects background, including payroll team management, record management
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, i.e. unions, bargaining councils, employers organisations
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • A high level of commitment, motivation and initiative
  • Effective leadership and management skills Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor`s Degree qualification in Human Resources/Industrial Psychology or related field
  • 8 years experience as an HR Generalist or HRBP, at least 5 years at management level in a fast paced and labour-intensive sector or environment
