As the HR Manager South Africa, you will be responsible for supporting the set-up of Equinix in South Africa as well as managing all aspects of human resources, ensuring compliance with local regulations, including conformity with Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) requirements.
This role is the primary point of contact for managers and employees on employee relations and performance management matters. The HR Manager will partner with managers and HR Business Partners on manager coaching, organizational changes, and HR programs & processes. They will take the lead on complex employee relations, performance, and investigation matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Equinix South Africa set-up including legal and regulatory registrations
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs that align with the company's overall HR strategy and objectives while considering the unique requirements and dynamics of the South African market.
- Ensure compliance with South African employment laws, labour regulations, and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) requirements, including the development and maintenance of B-BBEE scorecards and reporting.
- Drive the implementation of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and talent development plans, considering cultural nuances and sensitivities within the South African context.
- Support employee engagement initiatives that foster a positive work culture, emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and the unique aspects of the South African market.
- Advise and support managers and employees on various HR matters, including employment contracts, disciplinary actions, terminations, and dispute resolutions, taking into account South African labour laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, employment legislation changes, and best practices in South Africa, adapting HR processes and practices accordingly.
- Collaborate with global HR teams to share best practices, leverage resources, and ensure consistency in HR policies and procedures, while also providing insights and recommendations specific to the South African market.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven HR management experience in a similar role, preferably within the technology industry or a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Strong knowledge of South African employment laws, labour regulations, and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs in the South African market.
- Solid understanding of performance management, employee engagement, and talent development practices tailored to the South African context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including an understanding of cultural sensitivities and dynamics specific to South Africa.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Expert understanding of HR Management best practice
- Knowledge of HR Information, Payroll Systems, benefits, and remuneration management (Workday experience Ideal)
- Highly flexible and ability to work in fast paced, constantly changing environment
- Strong customer focus being dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication (English speaking)
