Job Introduction
G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for an Industrial Relations Officer based at our operations in Centurion, reporting to the Human Resources Manager.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which an Industrial Relations Officer plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.
Role Responsibility
Effective performance of Labour relations function in relation to disciplinary matter
- Competent representation of the company in dismissal disputes referred to the CCMA for Conciliation and Arbitration
- To effectively preside all disciplinary hearings within the region and ensure that all matters are dealt with consistently and that the guidelines as set out in the LRA as well as the company disciplinary procedure is applied
- Maintain accurate disciplinary dockets and records of proceedings
- Liaise with HRBP over matters requiring input and guidance
- Effectively manage diary and calendar to meet SLA timeframes
- Ensure employees are aware of the company rules and regulations
- Compile reports on statistics and trends for Management
- Keep an active case register (CCMA, discipline and Labour Court)
- Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.
- Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Discuss all safety incidents on all levels
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
- Attend safety education and refresher programmes
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace
- Distribute safety information as and when required
- Wear protective clothing all the time
Qualification
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Human Resource qualification / Industrial Relations qualification
- 1 year experience
