We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Planner to join our team. The Junior Planner will play a crucial role in assisting with the development and execution of plans and strategies to meet our goals and objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Monitor and maintain set budgets and company strategies
- Develop, implement, and control all aspects of merchandise planning
- Work collaboratively with the buying team to maximize sales, optimize inventory levels and grow profit
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external partners, including suppliers
- Sales, stock and markdown forecasting
- Develop, implement, and control all aspects of merchandise planning
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges relevant to the planning process
- Work closely with senior planners to help create short-term and long-term plans to achieve company objectives
- Contribute to budget preparation and assist in monitoring expenditures to ensure adherence to financial targets
- Support inventory planning by assisting in maintaining optimal stock levels and reducing excess or obsolete inventory
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate - high school qualification)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce related studies (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Economics or Supply Chain)
- 1 3 years fully-fledged retail planning experience
- eCommerce experience is highly advantageous
- Advanced level in MS Office package with a specific focus on Excel (e.g. macros, vlookup, pivot tables, conditional formulas, etc.) and Powerpoint
- A good understanding of the South African consumer market
- Be able to find solutions and be a good decision maker
- Flair for numbers and figures
- Assertive communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly
- Able to adapt and change in direction and focus quickly
- Team player - the willingness to adapt to team goals and work effectively with colleagues in an interdependent way
