THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Social Media to join our growing team. We are looking for the right candidate who can manage a multi-brand and multi-market social media team while providing strategic and operational leadership to our English-language social content and community.
Being goal-driven rather than channel-focused, you will be a talented growth hacker who understands how to position, engage and create content for the right audiences to consume Fan Tokens and prioritizes channel growth and community engagement. Youre a peoples person who is able to nurture a team of talented social media specialists (Italian, Brazilian, Spanish & Turkish), is a positive character that can easily work with creative teams, digital marketers, and external agencies to position Chiliz and Socios.com as market leaders in fan engagement.
Working with the biggest Sports Teams in the world, youll also partner with our creative strategists to plan & deliver the right messaging to the right audience to make Chiliz the most renowned Sports Blockchain and Socios.com the worlds biggest fan engagement and rewards platform.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Responsible for growing the brands presence on social media, taking a platform-by-platform approach to content strategy and not a one-size-fits-all approach
- Set the Socios.com and Chiliz social media strategy across all relevant platforms, helping local markets to refine and define according to their needs
- Work with market social media leads and creative studios to optimise ideation and execution
- Plan, research and resource, to brainstorm creative ways of engaging fans
- Align with content governance & legal guidelines for tone, style, and personality of all content, and ensuring they are followed across the campaign life-cycle
- Manage our specialized social media team across the sports and crypto space, several markets and languages, including ownership of staffing rota, content calendar and performance reviews
- Set goals and objectives, and manage the professional development of your reports
- Brief and assign workflows and content development to reports & partners
- Adapt approach based on audience trends and success metrics by channel
- Collaborate with Marketing Strategists to assess campaign progress and document learnings and measure against KPIs, using specialist tools
- A deep understanding of each platforms content formats and nuances, and know exactly how to brief internal and external content creators to deliver against your strategy.
- Comfortable in using social media analytics and listening tools and feel comfortable generating & presenting reports to marketing and business leads.
- Experience in developing content strategies for long-form on YouTube, and working with the video department to deliver best-in-class content for this and other platforms.
- Have a holistic approach to community management, understanding that the strongest connections can also exist offline.
- You will work with the Chiliz social & community team as well as your own social media team to develop and execute authentic relationships with sports fans, crypto enthusiasts, and interested civilians on platforms from Telegram to Reddit and everything in between.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in social media operations and management
- Experience in creating & developing multi-platform concepts targeting consumers
- Deep knowledge of sports culture and the media landscape, particularly in football.
- Knowledge of the crypto and blockchain ecosystem, or financial services, is considered an asset
- Significant knowledge of the primary social media networks, YouTube, X, Meta, TikTok, instant messaging apps and aggregation forums
- Presentation skills to professional level (PowerPoint, Canva, Keynote)
- Excellent writing skills in English at the native level
- Ability to spot patterns and trends in the digital and competitive landscape
