The incumbent of this position is an IT Specialist (ENTRARCH) located in Data Migration and Management within the Office of the Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM-IO).

Duties
Gather Data Requirements From Stakeholders.
- Gather (Import) existing metadata from source systems and subject experts.
- Develop new data models adhering to EHRM practices and standards.
- Document the enterprise architecture infrastructure, including the business units and key processes, using modeling techniques; maintain the existing
- Develop new tools and processes for collecting, managing, and reporting metadata
- Develop tools and processes for performing data validation, data quality checks, and data profiling;
- Perform data validation, data quality checks, and data profiling.
- Provide enterprise architecture guidance, support, and coordination to customers, and EHRM teams.
- Promote and educate customers and stakeholders on the use and value of the enterprise architecture.
- Ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices to all components of the enterprise

- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-13 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to on-the-job experience in applying enterprise architecture concepts and principles, information business value, agency IT infrastructure, systems analysis principles and techniques, and applying advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to adequately accomplish or participate in the accomplishment of policy, procedure and strategy development; interpret proposed or existing criteria governing the planning and delivery of IT services.
Selective Placement Factor - The Selective Placement Factor for this position is documented experience in altering and redesigning enterprise data management frameworks creating databases and migrating data for large complex systems that can include financial, human resources/payroll, acquisition, benefits, health, or enterprise domains.
Skill and Abilities:- Developing conceptual and logical information models within the context of the Enterprise Medical records, combining VistA (EHR) and Cerner (EHR) data models.- The Data Architect will oversee the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, to ensure data quality. Collaborate with project managers, clinicians, and others to address data-related problems regarding systems integration and compatibility- Ensuring that Data Warehouse/BI standards and guidelines are used to develop the information models and database designs and documentation.- Working with the DBA to transform the logical information model into a logical database design (physical information model for the target DBMS)
Preferred Experience:- Familiarity with MS SQL, BIML, SSIS, IRIS, Visio, Azure Synapse, Data Bricks, Power BI, and other tools for architecting, migrating, and analyzing data both on-premise and in the cloud.- Analysis of data models and discoveries in the data models with written descriptions of the findings and any code used.- Familiar with analytic methods and data analysis on small and large data sets.
