IT Support Assistant

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Assist with installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • Help monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Respond to basic service issues and requests under supervision.
  • Provide support and guidance to company staff in the use of various technologies.
  • Assist with setting up accounts for new users and managing login credentials.
  • Help with inventory management of IT equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in testing and evaluating new technology under guidance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; further education or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
  • Willingness to learn and to pursue further training and certification.
Skills
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with internet security and data privacy principles is advantageous.
  • Comfortable using a variety of operating systems and software applications.
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaborate with team members.
Experience
  • Prior experience in IT support or a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and/or macOS environments preferred.
Working Conditions
  • In-office role with occasional need to visit other locations within the company.
  • May involve lifting of moderately heavy items, such as computers and printers.
Performance Goals
  • Achieve steady improvement in response times to IT support tickets.
  • Maintain positive feedback from staff interactions and support provided.
  • Successfully complete internal training modules and pursue relevant certifications as directed by management.
