The Data Center Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of client driven projects requiring data Center assistance. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate senior level expertise in the area of OS ( Linux, Windows), VMware, network routing, switching, firewall, and load balancing technologies as they apply to a service provider network. Must also have the ability to work closely with customer and translate complex requests into common language. This candidate must also have the ability to train and mentor other team members and act as a high level escalation point for projects and trouble issues.
- Manage vendor replacement of faulty equipment, maintain inventory, activity and procedure documentation on NOC SharePoint site.
- Create IP ranges and create or edit internal/external DNS.
- Install fiber and copper cross connects for routers, switches, network and SAN connections to servers and storage.
- Set up DNS, DHCP and GPO's and other domain services.
- Set up DHCP scopes, TCP/IP (IP address reservations, etc . )
- Monitor /killed/restarted physical server processes in Datacenter through ILO, KVM..
- Configure and trouble shoot remote dial in connections to a LAN..
- Experience working with OTV & FCOE on the nexus between the datacenters.
- Monitor AS400 (MS4) session windows and Robot/Network status center for all regions.
- Provide engineering, consultation, and integration services to DoD contractors within the federal space.
- Switch port configurations, DNS updates, run cables for all sorts of connections, i.e.
- Lead a team of individuals to perform infrastructure mapping, system scoping, and solution architecture.
- Provide Windows administration and Linux administration.
- Investigate and troubleshoot Unix/NT servers and network connectivity problems.
- Install and troubleshoot windows and Linux operating systems.
- Respond physically to urgent situations within data center and troubleshoot.
- Coordinate repairs and installations with electricians and HVAC engineers.
- Monitor and escalate equipment failures.
- Analyze data center HVAC's and electrical power distribution equipment data to prevent degradation of electronic components.
- Support SAN storage systems connectivity.
- Monitor windows servers utilizing establish procedures monitoring programs.
- Maintain networking between systems, security groups, iptables firewall rules, gateways and email routing.
- Require troubleshooting skills to escalate and page appropriate personnel when failure conditions are observed.

- 6-10 years of hands on DataCenter Operation experience.
- Experience supporting large scale data center infrastructure environments.
- Experience with various operating systems including Windows and various flavors of LINUX
- Recent experience with network virtualization technologies such as virtual firewalls, virtual load balancers, MPLS VRFs, Nexus 1000V, etc.
- Experience supporting the networking requirements for Multi-tenant environments.

- Experience and knowledge of network monitoring/management technologies (SNMP, Netflow, syslog, monitoring applications, etc.)
- Expert level knowledge of DNS
- Advanced knowledge of network monitoring/management technologies (SNMP, Netflow, syslog, monitoring applications, etc.) tool.
- Cisco CCNP Certification and/or other advance level industry certifications.
Essential Skills- Strong knowledge in Operating system - Deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Linux and Windows servers OS.
- Strong knowledge in Networking- Switches(L2&L3), Routers, Firewall, Load Balancers.
- Hands-on experience in installation and troubleshooting Infrastructure (DC & Network) equipment's, Rack and Stack of the equipment/cable.
- Experience in Disaster Recovery/ Restore Concepts.
- Hands on Experience in AD Servers, DHCP Server, DNS Servers.
- Hands on Experience in VMware ESXi Servers & Vmware disk storage and Networking Technologies
- Experience in any monitoring/ticketing tool.
- Good Troubleshooting Skills network and system problems to provide solutions to hardware/software defect
- Incident/Problem/Change management Concepts followed by ITIL Principals.
- Need to Act as a first point of escalation/consultation for the team on all technical, procedural and processes related queries.
- Handle Escalation & Notification to the relevant teams & stakeholders to ensure SLA.
- Experience with Scripting/development in tools such as PowerShell, Bash and Command Line Interface Tools.
- Experience in KVM Units and DC Power Cycling Management.
- Coordinate with all the technical teams to assist in providing accurate & timely updates to the internal & external customers till issue resolution.
- Understanding of current and legacy hardware Infrastructure platforms.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
- Updating and Recording of activities in relevant Datacenter Operations.
- Required Windows/linux/Vmware/Networking Certification.
- Backup and Tapedrive Storage Units.
- Storage Concepts( Raid, SAN, NAS).
- File Servers, Sharepoint, Office 365.
- Knowledge about Database Concepts.
